Feathered friends

I told my friend that she was a 'goose' one day and it just stuck.
I refer to her fondly as goose and it has become a habit of mine sketching her.
This has kept me sane through uni and boring lectures, as I'd always draw her one.
Now it's holidays, I miss drawing goose... even though it resembles more of a duck/swan she will always be my green eyed feathered friend.

Festivities and food

e

The phones are off and the music's on.

Christmas 'Oh nine' didn't snow for us. (It never does in Australia...really)
But the rain was so fine and gentle that it fell like snow.
Our Festivities began with Christmas Eve.
There is nothing better than the feeling before Christmas day.
My whole family and I dine at the local pub. My grandmother arrives Santa style with hats, flashing lights and games. Although we're getting far too old for such things, we pretend to enjoy it. And after dinner, my cousins and I walk back home in the dark with glow sticks ... to be greeted with mums all famous 'ROCKY road Christmas tree'. Deliciously deadly.
This is usually followed by 'Meet me in St Louis', however my brother and sister in law, decided they'd rather be on a cruise than spend Christmas with us, thus no movie.
Perhaps I'll get my Judy Garland fix next year.
Christmas day was just devine, I was spoilt with presents and lots and lots of glorious food.
And I couldn't help but share it all with you.

Jungle Adventure

Photoshoot Tuesday, with Kalin.
I bought a leopard print dress for my friends 21st. I had no intention of ever adorning the spots again. However the buy was justified by the jungle shoot that followed with my friend. She made me a beautiful painted pasta neckace (as featured) for christmas.
We gallivanted around the golf course, climbing trees and braking branches.
The kind of havoc 10 year olds create. The good pure childhood fun.
It felt like old times, when nothing matters and things aren't important.
Oh the fun of camera's.

It's not about compromise

Hayden and Kasey, pencil and computer compilation.
So I've made up my mind, I don't need to think it further.
I'm happy right now, no point over analyzing things.

You have to realize my mind has a world of it's own.
And you don't own my thoughts.

Glorious Books

I have recently acquired a beautiful retro book by Rosemary Davidson. From the cover to the delicate end paper design, the book has been gloriously put together. It's little things like these that just make the world a better place. Thank you Tash x

Everything is perfect now

Everything is perfect now
I dont want to make a movement
I'm too scared to breathe; I might do something wrong
As you're sleeping silently
Perfect beauty laid before me
I feel every second is a life time long

I have restored my faith in the human race. I have returned from Melbourne, accomplished flying across country with awkward boxes to find places I feel I know but I've never been before. My second interview is over and now everything is perfect. I have discovered something fundamental...People are nice, unbelievably so. All these years I have been afraid of them, half suspected someone to steal my handbag or push me into the pavement. This is not so.
And to the rumble of thunder and green light of the dying sun, I shall retire to my Islamic print dona cover and curl up with a book. A luxury I have been deprived of for far too long.

The Meaning

'All I want to be is someone who creates truly meaningful things.'
My ambition is to be an artist, not a famous artist, not a particularly wealthy artist but someone who creates images for a living. Someone that can capture an emotion or personal narrative so perfectly that viewer is transported to a different place. Painting and colour represent the magic in my life. I'm following my dream and I don't particularly mind if I go insane or end up homeless and creating chalk drawings on the pavement. I have much to learn and all I can do is hope that I am given the opportunity to do so.

Melting Icemen

On the steps of Berlin artist Azevedo's installation melted in the midday sun. One thousand little men ice sculptures. A poignant statement and moving image.
'beautiful contemporary art' does exist.

New dress. Feeling a bit Audrey.
