"She loved to walk down the street with a book under her arm. It had the same significance for her as an elegant cane for the dandy a century ago. It differentiated her from others."

The painter and the painted

My final art film submitted for the end of my 2nd year. I have explored concepts about introspection and the problems that arise from too much reflection, (which is very relevant in contemporary practice). Inspired by Pablo Picasso and Joan Jonas video art this is my introspective piece on the act of self portraiture. Static vs animated, life vs electronic, skin vs light, present time vs past and the never ending battle of representation, always trying to mimic and align oneself.

Love's Sinking in the Sand

Finished university for the year, back to the seaside and warm beaches. I'm loving the tunes from Little Dragon and being home once again.

My encyclopedia of paint

A gathering of my creations from the latter half of this year. Most of these are small works on canvas paper. I find the best way to work through ideas is to just paint and experiment and not get to tied up on any one thing.
