Life Inside a Painting

Midnight sketchings. Sleepless wonderings.
And somehow, by a strand of string, I'm surviving the last weeks of assignments, essays and exams.

Remember me

It takes a minute to like someone, an hour to love someone, but a lifetime to forget someone.

Pursuit of Happiness

I believe this installation in England to epitomize happiness. I would have loved to have been at the exhibition. A gorgeous array of suspended beauty. Like frozen thoughts that promise magic.

I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

Tell me what you know about dreamin’ dreamin’ you don't really know about nothin’ nothin’ tell me what you know about them night terrors every night 5 am, cold sweats wakin’ up to the skies tell me what you know about dreams, dreams tell me what you know about night terrors, nothin’ you don't really care about the trials of tomorrow rather lay awake in a bed full of sorrow

Sleep did not wish it

Last night I dreamt of a million short stories. I was in them and writing them.
Not fantastical stories, but adventures of the mundane. A never ending madness of the 'ordinary'. Sleep did not wish my mind to rest. When will it erase my thoughts and let me lie peacefully?

With your eyes all painted, you look unnatural

I did my best to smile

Long afloat on shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang
Sail to me
Sail to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am
Here I am
Waiting to hold you

Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you hare when I was fox?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks,
For you sing, touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow:
O my heart, o my heart shies from the sorrow

I am puzzled as the newborn child
I am troubled at the tide:
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Should I lie with death my bride?
Hear me sing, swim to me, swim to me, let me enfold you:
Here I am, here I am, waiting to hold you

Smudgings

An experiment with pastel, charcoal and acrylic wash.

Little whisper, find me.
Mysterious secret of my child heart.

Musings of a restless mind

This is the first day of my life
Swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed
They're spreading blankets on the beach
Yours is the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
Now I don't know where I am, don't know where I've been
But I know where I want to go

And so I thought I'd let you know
That these things take forever, I especially am slow
But I realized that I need you
And I wondered if I could come home

Remember the time you drove all night
Just to meet me in the morning
And I thought it was strange, you said everything changed
You felt as if you'd just woke up

And you said, "This is the first day of my life.
I'm glad I didn't die before I met you.
But, now I don't care, I could go anywhere with you
And I'd probably be happy."

So if you wanna be with me
With these things there's no telling
We'll just have to wait and see
But I'd rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery

Besides, maybe this time it's different
I mean I really think you like me

Musings from the ocean deep.

What if the animals swam amongst us?
In light of a story I am writing,
Here is a sneak peek at one of my paintings titled 'The Girl and the Whale'.

Anime

Apart from Howl's Moving Castle, 'PONYO' is the best anime I have seen in an age.
A purely wonderful and inspirational adventure. Rich and soulful imagery... old school animation at it's best.
Not to be missed!
and to the composer Joe Hisiashi, you will always have my heart.

So I've discovered Tim Walker and I simply must share his greatness with the world.
I did a photo shoot recently that was inspired by his masterpieces, i will post at a later date.
